Simple Security is a simple (As its name suggests) freeware security program. Drop it in your Startup Items folder, and, on startup, the user will be prompted for a password. If the user cancels the dialog box or attempts unsuccessfully 3 times to enter the password, the Macintosh will shut down.
ABOUT THE PASSWORD
--------------------
The first time Simple Security is run, you will be prompted to enter a password. Once you have entered and verified the password, Simple Security will quit. From now on, every time Simple Security is run, you will be prompted to enter that password.
If you wish to change the password, locate the file "Simple Security Prefs" in the Preferences Folder, and move it to the Trash. The next time Simple Security is run, you will be asked to enter a new password.
VERSION HISTORY
----------------
1.1 - Added ability to change the password without the Script Editor and added a feature to store the new password in a preferences file.
1.0 - Original release.
